Making Math Real is a multi-sensory approach to teaching and learning mathematics. Children are guided through systematic lessons using the four stages of concept formation: concrete, semi-concrete, semi-abstract and abstract. By use of manipulatives and stories, children learn to truly understand the meaning of mathematical operations and how to use visual imagery and self-talk as learning strategies.
